Morales joins Perrin staff
Continuity is a major part of any program having success. Jason Morales is hoping to bring that as head coach to a Perrin girls basketball program that has had three head coaches in the last four years.
Tigers beat Rams, 40-32
Jacksboro’s summer basketball team overcame a halftime deficit in its Poolville Summer League season finale Thursday, June 27 and posted a 40-32 victory over Mineral Wells. The Tigers looked to put the Rams away early, jumping out to an 8-2 lead in the game’s first four minutes.
Perrin lands several on All-District 10-A squad
After a season that ended in the regional quarterfinals, Perrin’s baseball team landed several on the All District 10-A baseball team. Pirate senior Evan Thompson was selected district MVP.
TNT Fest set for Saturday
It will be a busy weekend at Twin Lakes Community Park as TNT Fest will be happening Saturday, June 29. The Jacksboro Youth Sports Association Baseball Tournament starts the all-day event off at 8 a.m.

TBC Elite finishes 2nd in series
Tiger Baseball Club Elite’s 12U team fought back from a tough start to finish second in a World Series tournament earlierthismonth. The squad, made up of several Jacksboro boys, competed in the Panama City Beach Global World Series, held Friday, June 7 through Monday, June 10, along with more than 200 other travel teams.
Cernosek named head volleyball coach
There’s nothing like a small town and Mandy Cernosek wants to return to one. Cernosek, who has spent most of her coaching career in Frisco, Graham and Krum, will be taking over as head volleyball coach at Bryson this fall.
Summer hoop loses opener
In a slow offensive game, Jacksboro and Poolville shook off the cobwebs somewhat in the second half of their Poolville Summer Basketball League opener.
Af ter Jacksboro took a 7-6 lead at halftime, the Monarchs used a 9-0 run early in the second half to take control and eventually post a 26-21 win over the Tigers.
