Lady Pirates quartet ends season at state track

Seniors Shiloh Wilson and Lucchese Reilly bid farewell to their high school careers at Perrin-Whitt as they joined junior Callie Weddle and sophomore McKieran Murphy in competing in the 4x200-meter relay at the Class 1A State Track and Field Meet on May 16.

The quartet clocked a time of 1 minute, 53.20 seconds inside Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas in Austin for a ninth-place finish.

It’s the second straight season the foursome has qualified for state in a relay. In 2025 they advanced together in the 4x400.

Whitfill looking for best jump at state

Jossy Whitfill is making her debut at the University Interscholastic League Class 1A State Track and Field Meet on May 16 at the University of Texas at Austin, and she's hoping to jump high enough to make all of her supporters jump with joy.

Lady Pirates quartet off to state track

The quartet of seniors Shiloh Wilson and Lucchese Reilly, along with juniors Callie Weddle and McKieran Murphy are no stranger to competing in Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. It was only last season at around this same time they were competing at the University Interscholastic League Class 1A State Track and Field in the 4x400-meter relay.

They're back this season. And while they're running half the distance in the 4x200, the goal is the same as they take the track on May 16.

Tigerettes still deserve praise

To say it was a rough week for the Jacksboro Tigerettes softball team would be quite the understatement. It just doesn’t get more disappointing than the week they had this past week.

The Tigerettes thought they were moving on to greater things and would continue to compete for a state championship. Instead, they learned their season was over, just like that.
