Tommie D. McDonald

Tommie D. McDonald was born April 7, 1941 in Graham. She was the daughter of Ed and Vonnie (Tilghman) Swan.

She and the late Leroy McDonald married June 2, 1962 in Jacksboro. Tommie was a homemaker, but also volunteered her time driving the Concerned Citizens van and worked for period of time at Jacksboro National Bank. You could count on her to be at every event, game and activity that her children and grandchildren were involved in.

Coongravy Johnny R. McCaghren

Coongravy Johnny R. McCaghren, passed away on Monday, July 12, in Fort Worth, surrounded by his family.

Coongravy was born on March 18, 1945 in Olney to O’Dell and Lela (Bishop) McCaghren. He married Charlene Lane on May 11, 1968 at the Methodist Church in Jacksboro.

Together they raised two children, Shannon and Kimberly. Coongravy worked many years in the oilfield and more recently delivered for the City Drug Store. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Elvira Candelaria Balli

Elvira Candelaria Balli, 98, left this world to rest until the coming of the Lord on Sunday, July 11, in Jacksboro.

A Celebration of Life was held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 16 at Coker Funeral Home, with a burial at DFW National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 20.

Elvira Balli was born on March 6, 1923 to Antonio and Felipa Plata Candelaria in Victoria.

Elvira is preceded in death by John Balli, her husband of 70 plus years, her parents and all of her siblings: brother: Selestino, Jr.;  and sisters: Lily Serrata, Teresa Santiago, Tony Mendez and Felipa Laurel

Molly Gertrude Bates Inge

Molly Gertrude Bates Inge, 86, of Jacksboro, passed away Friday, July 16, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, with Rev. David Carpenter of Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. immediately prior to the service. Interment followed at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements were under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Mary Jean Harding

Mary Jean Harding, 88, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 16 at her home at Roberts Branch.

A Visitation was held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 20. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21 at Roberts Branch Cemetery in Jacksboro Texas.

Mary Jean (Smith) Harding was born on January 19, 1933 in Jacksboro, Texas, to Lester and Allie Smith. Throughout her life she worked as a seamstress and a bank accountant. Mary most of all loved spending time with her family.

Thomas John “T.J.” Rich

On Monday, July 12 Heaven gained another angel, Thomas John “T.J.’’ Rich at the age of 5.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Rich Family Cemetery.

T.J. was born on September 2, 2015 in Weatherford, Texas to Tarrah Lashae (Bardwell) Rich and Thomas Jay Rich. T.J. loved the outdoors, from playing baseball to going fishing with his family. Even working on old cars with his dad. He was always one who wanted to help with anything and everything. He will be missed beyond measure.

Pat Herring

Pat Herring, 80, passed away on Sunday, July 11, at Graham Oaks Care Center in Graham, Texas. Visitation was held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 at Southside Baptist Church in Olney, with Andy Graham, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Larry Dale Damron

Larry Dale “Lil Man” Damron was born December 19, 1968 in Jacksboro. He was the son of Larry Smith Damron and Lounetta Sue (Preston) Damron. Larry passed away at his home on Friday, July 9, 2021 in Jacksboro. He was 52 years old. Throughout his life Larry worked in the oilfield and attended church at Christian Missions. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his father, brother, Billy Don Damron and wife Debra Nelms.

Weldon Smith

On April 5, 1945, the Smith family was complete with the addition of their baby boy, Weldon. From early childhood through these last few years, Weldon could be best described as ornery and mischievous at times but would always be available to help out his friends & family when called.
