Dr. Paul K Conner Jr.

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, K Conner was claimed by his Lord on August 19, 2017 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dr. Conner was born September 23, 1930 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ethel (Cronovich) and Dr. Paul Kerr Conner Sr. 

Dr. Conner grew up in Jacksboro, Texas, where he excelled in academics and sports at Jacksboro High School. He double majored in biology and psychology at Southern Methodist University where he played football with teammate, Doak Walker.

Dennis Ray Varner

Dennis Ray Varner went home September 15, 2017 in Jacksboro. He was born September 3, 1955 in Waco, Texas to Geraldine and A.B. “Red” Varner.

In his younger years, he was a stellar athlete for Levelland High School in both baseball and was a state champion pole vaulter. He married the love of his life and his best friend, Donna Kay Epps, June 20, 1991. He also worked tirelessly in his extensive career in the oil well service industry, a career that spanned 40-plus years.

He was a hard worker, devoted husband, the best dad in the world and number one Grampa.

Ruthey Fae Rhodes Mazey Alcorn

Ruthey Fae Rhodes Maxey Alcorn, 82, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Graham. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Graham with burial to follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Ruth was born April 13, 1935 in Jack County, Texas to the late Arnie and Eula (Collier) Rhodes. 

Harold Aubrey Inman, Jr.

Harold Aubrey Inman, Jr. passed away at his home in Jacksboro, Texas on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was 78 years old.

He was born on January 10, 1939 to Harold and Eileen (Parker) Inman, Sr. in Houston, Texas.

Harold married Barbara Jones on February 8, 1961 in Mexico. He owned Dairyland Restaurant, known especially for its amazing barbecue. It is still being operated by the Inman family. Harold was a hard working family man who will be dearly missed by his family and the community of Jacksboro.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bob D. Henderson

Bob D. Henderson, 87, a retired rancher and land surveyor, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 24, 2017 in Bridgeport.

Bob was born on April 14, 1930 to Robert and Jimmie (Carson) Henderson in Joplin. He was united in marriage to Ann Swetnam on November 4th 1950 in Jacksboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Ruth Franks. 

Roberta F. Staley

Roberta F. Staley, 79, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away August 2, 2017 in Richmond, Texas.

She was born on August 16, 1937 to Aubrey and Katie Reynolds. Roberta was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg and was the outreach secretary for the church, retiring after 27 years. She remained active in the church and Sunday School Class. She would often assist in preparing food for special occasions and funerals. 

Shirley Russell

Shirley Russell, our beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, “GG”, left this earthly home July 19, 2017 to begin a new life with our Lord and Savior.  

Shirley was born Dec. 11, 1934 to Jack and Honor Nelson in Altus, Oklahoma.

Shirley was a resident of San Angelo and a member of Johnson St. Church of Christ.

Audrey Arlene Hollimon

Audrey Arlene Hollimon, 82, of Fort Worth passed away July 16, 2017 after a courageous and lengthy battle with mucosal melanoma.

Arlene was born October 30, 1934 in Electra to Arthur and Hazel Allen. She was married to Thomas Dale Hollimon on June 6, 1953, at the Little Chapel in The Woods in Denton. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Larry Allen and Richard Allen, Sister-in-laws Billie Allen, Mary Nell Allen, and Charlotte Maddox.
