Charlene Sears

Charlene Sears, 93, passed away Nov. 27 at her home in Fair Oaks Ranch. She was born Nov. 18, 1926 in Graford, the daughter of Charles Edward and Louella Smith Hardy. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro and loved sewing, making quilts, reading, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Graford Cemetery. 

Olan Guice

Olan Guice, 84, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Nov. 11. He was born in Markley on March 20, 1935 to John Olan Guice and Dove (Brown) Guice.
Olan married LaRue Matlock on Nov. 29, 1969, in Jermyn. He was a member of the Jermyn Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Frances Butler, and brother, Kenneth Guice.

Vernie Ogle Middlebrooks

Vernie Ogle Middlebrooks, 94, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 in Gainesville. She was born on Feb. 9, 1925, in Jacksboro to Willie Ogle and Stella (Dowdy) Ogle. 

Vernie was a graduate of Jacksboro High School and a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. On Dec 7, 1944, she married Robert Lee Middlebrooks in Jacksboro. Together they raised two children, Jean and Robert L. (Bobby). 

Barbara Lee Morris Clay

Barbara Lee Morris Clay went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019.

The family will accept friends for a visitation on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. A funeral service will be held immediately after at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

Milton Ray Capps

Milton Ray Capps, age 79 of Midland, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019. Services were held on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Bryson. The service will be conducted by Pastor Billy Rhone.  Interment will follow at the Cottonwood Cemetery, Bryson.

Lara Ann Nichols

Lara Ann Nichols was born July 16, 1960 in Jacksboro. She was the daughter of Glen Burleson and Ola Fay Tillery. She passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29 in Wichita Falls at the age of 59. Lara was a member of Christian Missions Church and worked many years as a caregiver for several families in the Jack county community.

She is preceded in death by her father Glen Burleson; grandmother, Lara Fay Tillery; grandfather, Marion Frank Tillery and husband, Buddy Nichols.

Angeline Eatherly Simpson

Angeline Eatherly Simpson passed away peacefully in the evening hours of Oct. 26 in Jacksboro. She was 95 years of age and lived in Jack County almost all her life. 

She was born to William Jonathan Eatherly and Elda Bryson Eatherly in Bryson and had three siblings. One, Douglas, died in childhood. Her other two siblings were Virginia Mershon and William McCoy Eatherly, both of whom also predeceased her, as did her niece, Sharon Mershon. 

Wendy Michelle Underwood-Raspaud

Wendy Michelle Underwood-Raspaud, 43, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at Medical City Hospital in Lewisville, Texas.

She was born Feb. 15, 1976, in Brownwood, Tx to (the late) James Underwood and Candice Sparkman Underwood. She graduated from Perrin-Whitt High School, and attended Weatherford College and UT Arlington where she received her RN & BSN.

She worked as a Nurse in the Cath Lab at Baylor Grapevine Hospital for several years and also at JPS in Fort Worth.

Herman Howard Mills

Herman Howard Mills was born April 5, 1944 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Herman Haskell and Eula Grace (Clepper) Mills. He and Nancy Caton married November 10, 1983 and would have celebrated their 36th anniversary in just a few weeks. Herman owned and operated Mills Well Service and was a member of Christian Missions Church. He passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 in Jacksboro, Texas at the age of 75 years old.

Aldie Marie "Shug" McAnear

Aldie Marie "Shug" McAnear was born was born October 21, 1931 to Rupert E. and Jeffie (Cannon) Graves. "Shug", as she was known by many, worked many years as both Bookkeeper and Secretary and was a member of the First Baptist Church and Ladies Auxillary of the VFW. She loved her God, her family and the Texas Rangers. Shug passed away October 19, 2019 in Jacksboro at the of 88 years old.

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Jeffie Cannon and Father, Rupert E. Graves and brothers, Pete Graves and Mike Groves.
