Obituaries

Tommy H. Smith

Tommy H. Smith, 70, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019. He was born on Dec. 31, 1948 in Weatherford to Don and Ann Smith.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jeanne Smith; daughters DeeAnn Hudson and husband Chris, Candice Graves and partner Brad, and Stacy Finn and husband Cody, along with six grandchildren. He was also survived by mother Ann Smith, brother Craig Smith and wife Nancy, sister, Sue Smith Schechter, as well as nieces and nephews.

Thomas Henry Frie

Thomas Henry Frie was born in Jack County, Texas on April 30, 1927 to Henry Gibson and Mildred Oleta (Bolton) Frie. He and the late Margaret Loraine Ainsworth married October 22,1951 in Graham. Thomas proudly served our country in both the United States Navy and later Air Force.

 After his service, Thomas worked for Hexcel Corporation for 24 1/2 years as a Line Foreman. There he would help produce the heating coils that would be used to insulate NASA Space Shuttles. Thomas passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 in Jacksboro, Texas at the age of 92 years old. 

Roger Royce “Bub” King

Roger Royce "Bub" King went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2019 in Decatur, Texas.

A Visitation washeld on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Bible Baptist Church from 9:00am to 10:00am with a Graveside service following at 11:00am at Hicks Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas.

Roger "Bub" was born on March 10, 1941 in Jacksboro, Texas to Royce Clifford King and Gladys Vernie King. He was self-employed and known to be a "Jack of all Trades". During his free time to loved to play music.

Don Henry "Popeye" Myers

"Popeye" Don Henry Myers went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2019 in Weatherford, Texas at the age of 57 years old. 

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Christian Missions from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Christian Missions with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Betty Fry Gatlin

Betty Fry Gatlin went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in Waco, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Bible Baptist Church with the funeral services following at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas.

Mary Ann Parsons

Mary Ann Parsons, 85,  went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas.

A visitation was held Sunday, September 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. A Church Service was held Monday, September 23, 2019 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church.

Jimmy Ray Kinder

Jimmy Ray Kinder, 84, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at his home in Jacksboro.

Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Memorial Christian Church of Jacksboro. Funeral services was also held Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. with burial following at Barton Chapel Cemetery.

Sandra Lynne Gardner

Sandra Lynne Gardner, 77, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 9, 2019 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Sandra was born on April 2, 1942 to Floyd and Dean Colbert in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1960. Throughout her life, Sandra was active in the Concerned Citizens and was also a member of Southwest Baptist Church. She was a cosmetologist. Owner of Sandra's Hair Fashions. She worked until the age of 45 years old when she had a stroke, and it changed her life forever.

Allen “Ray” Price

Allen “Ray” Price, 87 ,passed away Sept. 2, 2019.

He was born February 10, 1932, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to John Ritchie Price and Ruby Lockie (Stephensen) Price.

Ray was retired from Southwest Gas.  He volunteered at Mineral Wells Fire Department and retired as Fire Chief in Perrin, Texas.  He loved his biological family and his fire department families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn Frances Price; granddaughter, Menda Raye Price; brother, Jerry Price; brother-in-law, Floyd Reasoner.

Larry Gene Rodgers

Larry Gene Rodgers, age 61 of Jacksboro, TX, passed away Sunday, September 01, 2019 in his beloved town of Jacksboro. Larry Gene Rodgers was born on August 17, 1958 in Blackfoot, Idaho, the baby of 10 children born to Russel and Verda (Hoskin) Rodgers. Larry later moved to Texas where he would eventually meet and marry the love of his life, Vickie Lynn Bieler on September 5, 1976. They made their home in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex where they raised 4 children, daughters Amber and Larrin and sons Cody and Landon.
