The Help America Vote Act of 2020, is part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act and makes it easier for everyone to vote. County Elections Administrator Lynn Casteel said it is set up by the State and funding, which 20 percent must come from the entity itself, can be used for anything voting related, including cleaning supplies and potential salaries of extra people possibly needed to work elections now.
Jacksboro Independent School District plans to open its doors for the 2020-21 school year on time in August.
Superintendent Dwain Milam told board members that during the board’s regular meeting June 8. He said the more you read on what the TEA wants, the more frustrating it gets.

The Gladys Johnson Ritchie Public Library will move forward with its Summer Reading Program starting Monday, June 15, through July 10.
With COVID-19 distancing guidelines still in place, Librarian Lanora Joslin said the library will move its weekly programs to a virtual medium to help introduce the topic for the week.
