Last week was a busy one for Perrin Pirates basketball. The team saw a big win over Breckenridge and finished out the week in Graham, finishing fourth in the annual tournament.
Jacksboro’s football season is complete, with the Tigers having one of their best in the last 50 years. Still, making it all the way to the Region II Final really wasn’t a surprise in the eyes of head coach Casey Hubble and his staff.
One fan was heard leaving Jacksboro Middle School gym saying “not bad for just having one practice.” Due to a deep run in the football playoffs, Jacksboro’s boys basketball team had just one practice before hitting the hardwood for its season opener Tuesday, Dec. 5 against Muenster which was a perfect 5-0.
‘Where’s Kaleem going to sign?’ has been the most important question to many Jacksboro football fans over the last week. Jacksboro High School senior receiver/ defensive back Kaleem Howard posted on social media he would be signing with some school but would not say which one like many athletes do.
After winning the District 5-3A Division II Championship and making it to the Region II Final, Jacksboro placed several football players on the All-District teams recently announced. Senior quarterback Lando Belcher, a four year starter, was named district MVP.
