Tigers represent in Red White and Blue Tournament

The Jacksboro Tigers basketball team traveled to Graham this past weekend for their Red, White and Blue Tournament. The team finished 2-2 on the weekend and had several solid performances.

The tournament kicked off Thursday, Dec. 11 with the Tigers narrowly dropping their first matchup 54-52 to the Hereford Whitefaces.

The Tigers’ second game of the night was against the Clyde Bulldogs and once again despite their efforts, the team lost 67-59.

Lady Pirates lose close game against Graford

The Lady Pirates took on the Graford Lady Rabbits in an early week matchup and though it was a tight game throughout, Perrin-Whitt came up short, losing by just six points 30-24.

The game took place Tuesday, Dec. 9. After the first quarter, the Lady Pirates trailed by one point 6-5 to the Lady Rabbits.

The scorers in the quarter were Callie Weddle and McKieran Murphy. Weddle hit a three pointer in the quarter while Murphy hit a midrange jumpshot.

Pirates drop game to Graford

The Perrin-Whitt Pirates competed earlier this week in a matchup against the Graford Rabbits, and though they fought hard, were not able to pick up the victory losing 61-38.

The matchup took place Tuesday, Dec. 9 and despite the loss there were still strong scoring performances for the Pirates.

Perrin-Whitt kept things competitive at the end of the first quarter but trailed 11-9. Cole Keeney led the Pirates in scoring in the quarter with five points on a three pointer and a two pointer.

Cowgirls drop game against Archer City

The Bryson Cowgirls played an early week matchup against Archer City and were not able to pick up the victory, losing to the Lady Cats 48-20.

The game took place Tuesday, Dec. 16 and despite the loss, there were still solid scoring efforts in the contest.

The Cowgirls trailed 16-5 after quarter one and 34-9 at halftime. Jaydah McComack hit a three pointer and Lyssa Newton hit a two point jumpshot.

In the second quarter, Kinsley Rowe hit a two point jumper while McComack and Khloey Reddell both hit a free throw each.

Tigerettes pick up victory over Bellevue

The Jacksboro Tigerettes basketball team kicked off late week action against Bellevue, continuing their strong start to the season with a win over the Lady Eagles 47-43.

The game took place Friday, Dec. 5 and it was a hard fought battle throughout.

The Tigerettes got off to a strong start offensively picking up 18 points in the first quarter. Emory Inman and Hayden Walker hit a bevy of midrange jumpshots while Addy Mathis hit a three pointer along with a two pointer and a free throw.

Georgia Thompson rounded things out with a midrange jumpshot in the quarter.

Pirates drop overtime thriller to Munday

The Perrin-Whitt Pirates basketball team took on the Munday Moguls, but after a valiant fight couldn't pick up the win—dropping the matchup 59-53 in an overtime thriller.

The game took place Tuesday, Dec. 2 and it was a back and forth affair all around.

The Pirates took a one point lead at the end of the first quarter 12-11. Cole Keeney and Case Lambert both hit three pointers and Lambert also added a two pointer to his scoring total in the quarter.

Cowgirls drop matchup against Slidell

The Bryson Cowgirls basketball team gave their best effort against Slidell but were not able to pick up the victory, dropping their game against the Lady Greyhound 63-15. 

The game took place Tuesday, Dec. 9 and from the start Slidell was in command. Bryson kept it close after the first quarter but still trailed 12-7. 

Jaydah McComack picked up a two point bucket in the quarter while Joslyn Whitfill added her own two point basket and a three pointer from beyond the arc.

Tigerettes improve to 7-2 after win over Chico

The Jacksboro Tigerettes basketball team has been off to a strong start this season and that continued against the Chico Lady Dragons. The Tigerettes improved to 7-2 on the season after taking down the Lady Dragons 47-31.

The game took place Tuesday, Dec. 2 and the Tigerettes led the whole way.

The Tigerettes started things off on the right track, leading 14-5 after the first quarter and entered halftime with a 13 point lead 29-16.

Tigers take down Tolar in Tuesday showdown

The Jacksboro Tigers improved to 3-0 on the season after taking down the Tolar Rattlers in their early week matchup, pulling away for a 62-54 victory.

The matchup took place Tuesday, Dec. 2 and the Tigers were in control from the start. Jacksboro jumped out to a 14-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Brayden Rockey, Tyler Roberts, Kris Wicks and Josh Salazar opened the scoring for the Tigers. Rockey, Roberts and Wicks each hit a midrange jumpshot while Rockey and Salazar added to the scoring total at the end of the half with free throws.

Cowgirls drop latest matchup against Vernon

The Bryson Cowgirls hit a road bump prior to the Thanksgiving break, losing to the Vernon Lady Lions in a hard-fought battle 50-21.

The matchup took place Monday, Nov. 24 and despite the loss the team still saw solid performances on the night.

The Cowgirls actually started off with the lead 9-8 after the first quarter with Jaydah McComack and Reese Tuehl both hitting midrange jumpers while Kloey Reddell added her own two point shot.

Kinsley Rowe hit a three pointer in the quarter to cap off the scoring.
