Bryson VB players named to All-District

BRYSON – After a season that ended in the State semifinals, Bryson had several members named to the All-District 10-A volleyball team announced Thursday morning.

Senior Sydney Davidson was Overall MVP with classmate Maddee Moore named Co-Defensive MVP. Freshman Windsor Godfrey was newcomer of the year.

First-team all-district picks were Kyla Jones, Alyssa Perez, Kayleigh Pippin, and Brinkley Richardson. Hayle Leatherwood and Hannah Robinson were second-team selections with Victoria Goodman and honorable mention pick.

Bryson VB heads to State

MIDLOTHIAN – Brinkley Richardson wanted to end Saturday’s Region II-A Final in a sweep.

Bryson’s junior middle hitter had contributed to her Cowgirls taking the first two games vs. Saint Jo 26-24, 25-21 and taking a 14-4 lead in game three. Like the good teams always will, the Lady Panthers stormed back  to within 15-16 to make things interesting.

Tigers look to clip Eagles' wings

Every group of seniors is different.

Seventeen upperclassmen will take the Tiger Stadium turf for the last time this evening as Jacksboro plays its final home game of the 2018 season vs. Rio Vista. The Tigers have won three straight to go to 3-1 in District 6-3A Division II and 5-4 overall while the Eagles are still looking for their first district win (0-4, 2-7).

Jacksboro broke things open after a tight second half to post a 48-26 win over Millsap, which solidified a playoff spot. Jacksboro Coach Brannon Rodgers said the game was a dogfight in the first half.

Tigerettes beat WF Rider in opener

WICHITA FALLS – With little time to get ready for Tuesday evening’s season opener, Jacksboro’s girls' basketball team displayed what it could be like once it gets some practices and conditioning under its belt.

The Tigerettes got out to a quick start and cruised to a 46-20 win over Class 5A Wichita Falls Rider. The Tigerettes had one scrimmage and two practices before hitting the hardwood for real.
