Tigerettes eke out win

PARADISE –  It’s not too often that all five members of a basketball team have an off night.

Such was the case of Jacksboro’s girls' basketball team Friday night here. With the Tigerettes trying to hang on to first place in District 7-3A, the Purple had to deal with a game bunch of Lady Panthers and, at times, some questionable officiating.

BRYSON – Throckmorton’s girls' basketballers came into Tuesday night’s District 21-A matchup with the host Cowgirls looking to avenge a loss to the squad on its home court earlier this month.

Mission accomplished.

Perrin girls get big road win

GRAFORD – Sometimes it takes just a little something to kick in to take you to victory.

Perrin suffered a tough road loss Friday night in Bryson and was locked in another tight road game here Tuesday evening. Down at the half, the Lady Pirates began to turn things around offensively and buried some clutch free throws down the stretch to pull out a 39-34 victory at Rabbit Gym.

Tigerettes upend 16th-ranked Brock

When you double team one person, that allows one person to be wide open.

With Brock focusing its defensive efforts on junior post Baylee Thompson, sometimes double and triple teaming her, that left some Tigerettes open. That was most notably senior guard Jordan Nichols who was able to bury four three-pointers and help offensively at crucial times Tuesday night.
