Several Jacksboro track athletes will be competing in the Region I-3A track meet Friday and Saturday at ACU's Elmer Gray Stadium.

A schedule of each day's events can be found here. Running prelims will be done Friday and the finals Saturday.

Friday, April 26

10 a.m. – 3200 meter run girls final, boys long jump, girls shot put, girls/boys pole vault (boys will start 75 minutes after girls conclusion)

10:20 a.m. –  3200 meter run boys final.

12 noon – girls long jump, boys shot put

Jacksboro and Henrietta will face off in a one-game playoff Friday at 7 in Bowie, it was announced a short time ago.

Henrietta won a three-game playoff to take the top seed in District 8-3A. Jacksboro won a play-in game over Breckenridge Monday afternoon.

Henrietta will be the home team.

Fighting for its first softball playoff berth in seven years, Jacksboro gunned for its second win of the year over Breckenridge. The Lady Bucks took an early lead but the Tigerettes broke free with a middle-inning uprising and rolled to a 10-2 win in a District 7-3A play-in game.

Several Jacksboro track and field athletes qualified for the Region I-3A Meet April 26-27 in Abilene by virtue of top 4 finishes at the Area 7-8 Meet Monday at Tiger Stadium.

Jacksboro’s Tiger Stadium will host the Area 7-8 Meet Monday. Fourteen schools will have representatives at the day-long event.

The meet will begin at 11 a.m. with the boys and girls 3,200-meter run and field events as well. The top four in each event will qualify for the regional meet April 26-27 at Abilene Christian University.

PERRIN – Jasmine Bryant is a devout Perrin fan.

Even while watching the Pirate baseball team fall into a 26-0 hole Friday evening to visiting Alvord, Bryant continued to root on her schoolmates. The support clearly worked as the hosts responded late to finally get on the scoreboard and take a slight amount of pain out of the eventual 26-4, four inning setback.

A schedule for the District 7-3A Track Meet was released Tuesday. The event is scheduled Monday and Thursday at Jacksboro’s Tiger Stadium.

Field events and running prelims will be held Monday, April 1. Running finals will take place Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m.

You outhit your opponent, you make fewer errors than they do ... and somehow they manage to get a victory on the road against you. Such was the case of Jacksboro’s baseball team Tuesday evening.
