Lady Pirates defeat Bryson, 46-26

BRYSON – Perrin Coach Eddie Fortenberry, whose Lady Pirates had won just one game before Friday’s district matchup here, was just hoping to see his squad put together a complete game.

He saw quite a bit more.

With Bryson out two starters due to injuries suffered the game before in Throckmorton, Perrin took control early leading 18-2 after one and coasted to a 46-26 win at Cowboy Gym.

Fortenberry said that his squad played very smart offensively and was patient, particularly in the early going when Perrin took control for good.

Tigers land several in All-District football teams

After a second-place finish in District 5-3A division II, Jacksboro landed several on the All-District list announced recently.

The Tigers, who finished 6-5 overall, had two players named to superlatives. Senior Landon Davenport was Offensive MVP while offensive lineman of the year was classmate Randall Hamilton.

On the first-team offense, was freshman Lando Belcher. Belcher started the year on the JV and was moved up midway through district.

He replaced Jordan Yount, who was a first team selection at receiver.
