Jacksboro ISD has several summer sports camps for students needing to stay active this summer. For the boys, baseball camp is taking place from 9 a.m.

Pirates’ season ended by Longhorns
Perrin had its tremendous baseball season ended at the hands of Gordon in the Region II-A final. In a 13-2 Perrin loss in game one, the Longhorns used a nine-run first inning to take the lead for good.
Tigers lose in regional final to Wall
Jacksboro’s baseball team lost its second consecutive in the regional final over the weekend, with the Tigers falling to Wall, 6-1 and 2-0. Game 1 Hawks 6, Tigers 1 A five-run seventh inning by Wall broke open a pitcher’s duel and lifted the Hawks to 6-1 game one over Jacksboro in game one of the Region I-3A Final series Friday, May 23.

Games two and three, if necessary, will be played at Brownwood High School Saturday, May 24 beginning at approximately 3 p.m.

Perrin loses game one to Gordon
Being one round from the state semifinals, Perrin had everything to play for in game one of its Class Region II-A baseball series with Gordon.
Gordon, which saw its school heavily damaged by a tornado earlier in the week, came out with guns blazing. Using a nine-run first inning, the Longhorns took control early and never let the Pirates back in what ended up a 13-2, five-inning win over the Pirates.

Perrin knocks Bryson out of playoffs
Bryson had beaten county rival Perrin in tow out of the three District 10-A games. The Pirates had some momentum, however, in coming from behind to win the last one.
Tigerettes fall to Coahoma
Jacksboro’s softballers ended their 2025 season with a regional final loss to top-ranked and defending state champion Coachoma, losing the opener 10-0 and game 2, 8-2. Brief summaries of both games follow.
Sadler, Delgado, Lopez named Athletes of the Week
Each week the Jacksboro Herald-Gazette picks one athlete as its athlete of the week. The athletes are Joxan Delado of Jacksboro, Gavin SAdler of Bryson and Fabian Lopez of Perrin.
JHS boys sweep Lamesa
For the second straight season, Jacksboro’s baseball team has made it to the Region I-3A Final with a sweep of Lamesa, 10-2 and 6-1. The Tigers will face Wall FRiday, May 23 at 2 p.m.
Bryson beats Dodd City
Tied at two entering the bottom of the fifth inning against Dodd City, Bryson came through with timely hitting in the final two innings to post a 5-2 win over the Hornets. The Cowboys will face District 10-A and county rival Perrin in a three-game series.
