Jacksboro comes up short against Jim Ned

The Jacksboro Tigers varsity football team continued regular season action this week against the Jim Ned Indians. The team started off strong but ultimately ran out of gas in a 23-13 loss.

Despite the loss, head coach Casey Hubble said it wasn’t for a lack of effort from the team, and that sometimes teams just get outplayed on certain nights.

“The kids played hard, but in this business you don’t get the win just because you play hard,” Hubble said. “The other teams play hard too.”

Cowboys wrangle Throckmorton in blowout win

The Bryson Cowboys had another strong showing to start their season defeating the Throckmorton Greyhounds 58-12. Despite the win, head coach Kevin Ray doesn’t believe the team has reached its full potential yet.

“It was pretty good, it could have been better, but it was good I can’t complain,” Ray said. “Probably the last four or five minutes of the second quarter we let up a bit.”

However, the Bryson community has to feel encouraged that even when the team could have had a stronger performance from an execution standpoint, the team is still picking up dominant blowout wins.

Perrin football goes back to the drawing board against Aquilla
