JHS tracksters head to Area

Jacksboro qualified a number of participants for the Area meet later this month after running finals in the District 9-3A Meet Thursday evening. The Tigerettes finished fourth with 84 points. Junior Kaylea Maples won the 200-meter dash in 26.97 and was 2nd in the 100-meter dash in 12.88. Yuridia Delgado was also 4th in the 100-meters in 13.26.

Perrin boys, Bryson girls win District 17-A track titles

GRAFORD — Perrin’s boys and Bryson’s girls varsity track team won their District 17-A divisions during the district meet Thursday here. The Bryson girls won with 170 points, three better than Newcastle. Perrin was 3rd with 102 points. Bryson’s Emily Berend was 3rd in the 100-meters with a 13.14 time. Perrin’s Claire Mounce was 4th in the 200-meter dash with a 29.77 time.

Girls SB swept

Jacksboro’s varsity softballers had another rough week, losing to both Bowie and Holliday. Friday, the Tigerettes picked up just one hit and made five errors in an 8-0 setback at home. The Lady Rabbits (8-2 in District 9-3A and 16- 8-2 overall) were held in check in the first before a four-run second broke the game open.
