The Perrin-Whitt Lady Pirates postseason volleyball run came to an end against Harrold in the regional qualifier round. However, there is still plenty to celebrate from this year’s team.

The team just finished a historic season, going undefeated in district play and making it further in the playoffs than the program ever has. The team got this far because they had plenty of phenomenal players to rely on all season as several members of the team were recognized with prestigious awards for district 11-A.

Tigerettes bounce back with big win over Memorial

After losing their season opener against the Seymour Lady Panthers, the Jacksboro Tigerettes bounced back in a big way, winning their home opener over the Wichita Falls Memorial Lady Mavericks in dominant fashion 56-22.

The game took place Tuesday, Nov. 11 and head coach Clayton Brown hopes the team builds momentum off of this win.

“I think there’s a lot of potential with this team and I think that we're off a lot of people’s radar and I like that,” Brown said. “I like not being thought about a certain way.”

Pirates drop to third in district after loss to Knox City

Perrin-Whitt played their latest district game against the Knox City Greyhounds, but unfortunately for the Pirates, they were not able to get the job done and lost 44-30 to drop to third place in their district.

The team’s offensive and defensive unit fought hard throughout the majority of the matchup, but the Greyhounds pulled away with some momentum shifting scores to end things.

It's been a bit of a bumpy road for the Pirates up to this point as their only win in the district has been against the Bryson Cowboys.

Cowboys drop to 1-2 in district play after loss to Northside

The Bryson Cowboys were not able to pick up a victory in their latest district matchup against the Northside Indians. The team fought hard but ultimately lost 64-42 and dropped to fourth place in the district.

This season has been one of growth for the Cowboys up to this point. The team has a lot of young playmakers on the roster and this season had games of highs and lows.

This was unfortunately one of those lows. The offense and defense still showed flashes in this game throughout though.
