Tigers to face 'surprising' Millsap

Thu, 10/26/2017 - 11:54 am

Looking atop the District 5-3A Division II hill, Jacksboro is in a bit of an unfamiliar (but pleasant) situation.

The last two years, the Tigers had started the loop ledger at 0-2 and fighting to reach the top. This year, Jacksboro has posted impressive wins over its first two district foes, outscoring Henrietta and Nocona by a combined 75-36.

Coach Brannon Rodgers said after watching the film from the Nocona game there were definitely some things to improve on.

“We gave up too many yards for our liking,” Rodgers commented after giving up more than 400 yards to the Indians. “We had four turnovers, however, and that is so important but we need to get a handle on the yards.”

Rodgers said his squad did a better job of managing a different defensive front than they were expecting. Rodgers said he has been impressed with the way the players have been managing their business and not getting complacent with their success.
