Tigers come from behind to beat Peaster

Thu, 12/14/2017 - 12:25 pm

Leaving points on the floor in a tight ball game can be the difference between a win and a loss.

Jacksboro missing a number of layups in the early going Tuesday night allowed Millsap to get a big run and take a 43-35 lead into the fourth quarter. The Tigers were able to work through their problems and get back to basics, coming from behind to post a 55-48 win over the visiting Bulldogs.

Jacksboro, which has won three in a row, is now 4-2. Millsap falls to 10-8. Jacksboro Coach Aaron Bass said getting back to basics like hands-up defense paid dividends.

“We left 12 points on the floor due to missed layups,” Bass said in winning his home opener at the Tiger helm. “We were getting frustrated out there, so I told them to continue to fight for rebounds, get their hand-up on defense and things began to turn around.”
