Tigerettes swept by Graham
Graham senior Jasmine Sims was a dual threat for the Lady Blues here Tuesday evening.
The outside hitter came through with three blocks and 19 kills as the No.6 in Class 4A squad put together a workmanlike effort in a 25-16, 25-15, 25-11 victory over the host Tigerettes. Jacksboro, no slouch itself in being ranked tied for 25th in Class 3A, never seemed to get on track versus the visitors.
Sims, a 5’11” specimen with an estimated 26-inch vertical leap, kept the hostesses off balance throughout the evening, snapping any offensive string the squad had with a kill, including kills on four straight points as part of a nine-point serving skein from Nicole King after Jacksboro sophomore Alex Holman rolled off a pair to open game three, including an ace.
Leah Plaster strung together three in a row to bring the Tigerettes within 6-10 before another extended Graham run put the lead into double figures. Jacksboro received a good frontcourt performance from Trinity Tisdale, her block breaking serve and giving Morgyn Green a chance for a serving point.
Tisdale’s kill defensively gave her a chance to serve a single point put home by a block from Plaster and freshman Jordan Pruitt. The Lady Blues then used a kill to end the hour-long match.
