Tigerettes sting Lady Jackets

Fri, 01/12/2018 - 4:28 pm

BOYD – After a disappointing last two games for the Tigerettes on both offense and defense, the players needed a pick me up to get back into the swing of things.

That came in the form of the host Lady ‘Jackets Tuesday evening, Jacksboro converting 45 percent of its shots, many baskets coming after aggressive offensive rebounding. The visitors’ defense held Boyd to just eight baskets and 19 percent shooting as well in a 57-20 victory.

Jacksboro is now 5-1 in District 8-3A and 20-6 overall while Boyd falls to 2-4 and 6-16. Tigerette Coach Todd Matlock said he was glad to see his squad turn it around.

“We had not done a good job on defense the last two games in my opinion,” Matlock offered. “We did a better job tonight in that. Offensively, we weren’t just looking for the three but to get it to the hole and get to the free throw line.
