Tigerettes 2nd in Peaster

PEASTER – Jacksboro’s girls' basketballers finished 3-1 during play in the 920 Shootout last weekend here.

One of the games Saturday vs. IL Keller was canceled due to the school dropping out of the tournament.

The Tigerettes (11-4) opened with a 55-46 loss to Peaster. Jacksboro was down 11-10 after one and 24-23 at the half before taking a 38-36 heading into the fourth quarter.

Jacksboro missed 9-10 shots in the quarter, Baylee Thompson’s bucket avoiding the shutout. The Tigerettes were 6-10 at the free throw line to enable Peaster to pull away.

The Lady ‘Hounds were 5-10 shooting from the field and 8-9 at the charity stripe to take the win. Trinity Tisdale had 13 points and Jordan Nichols 10 for the Purple with Kelli Burkhalter leading four Peaster players in double figures with 17 points.

In the second game Dec. 7, Jacksboro posted a 53-24 win over West. Jacksboro took an early lead with Thompson ending up with a 10-point frame and getting support from Tisdale, and Leah Plaster. West used a pair of late three-pointers to cut the lead to 19-15 after one.
