Tiger FB travels to Boyd
Jacksboro continues to play solid football in non-district play heading into tonight’s road game at Boyd.
The Tigers (4-0) were able to outmuscle a physically larger Bowie team last Friday in a 38-21 Homecoming Night win, the first win over the Jackrabbits since 1994.
“We’re starting to come together as a team,” Jacksboro Coach Brannon Rodgers noted during a conversation during the week. “Our offensive line and tight ends are doing a great job.”
The Tiger offense is averaging more than 350 yards and 37 points a contest in the early going. It’s the defense, which is allowing 14 points a game, that is drawing praise from other coaches.
Rodgers says he likes his squad’s development as a whole so far but is honest about his squad’s chances for growth down the road.
“We have a lot of potential for growth and aren’t where we need to be as a team,” Rodgers said. “I like our development so far and where we can go as a team.”
Rodgers said being 4-0 is great but it doesn’t take the place of the goals the squad has once district commences in Henrietta next week.
