Texas Football makes predictions
If one preseason magazine is correct, each Jack County football team is headed back to the postseason in a repeat of 2016.
Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has Jacksboro and Perrin squeaking into the playoffs in their respective districts while Bryson opens the preseason with a state ranking. The magazine’s thoughts start here:
Jacksboro (262)
Lettermen R/L 14/10. Starters returning O/D 5/6 coming back from a 6-5 bi-district finalist/2-3 district that lost in bi-district to eventual state champ Gunter.
Players to watch: QB Payton Laake, RB Hunter Hackley, WR Hunter Jackson.
Notes: There’s a new sheriff as coach (Brannon) Rodgers takes over at Jacksboro after a successful stint in Crosbyton that saw him compile a 72-51 record. Rodgers inherits a team that advanced to the postseason a year ago and could be a threat to contend for the district title.
