Perrin athletes honored

PERRIN — Pirate athletes were honored for their hard work on and off the athletic field during the annual Athletic Banquet May 20.

Athletic Director Joe Merrett opened the 2 1/2-hour event by thanking exchange student Mika Wallner for everything he did as an athlete and presented him with a U.S. pillow autographed by many of his teammates.  Merrett then spoke of the year gone by and what a success it had been. For the Perrin seniors, it was time to celebrate.

“I thank everyone for their hard work,” Merrett said.

All athletes were introduced and the sports they participated in announced. In honor and respect of former AD and Head Football Coach Brad Hutton, the male seniors went over to Hutton’s table and thanked him.
