Lindsay jousts Perrin in Game 1

Thu, 05/12/2016 - 1:27 pm

NORTH CROWLEY — Perrin’s Brigham Richardson has been a big part of the 2016 playoffs, coming through with two extra-base hits for the Pirates.

Richardson had the opportunity to show his pitching prowess Wednesday night, tossing Game 1 of the best-of-three series with Lindsay, which came into the game No.5 in the state. Richardson did a solid job over the first two innings, shutting down a pair of brief rallies before the Knights found their hitting stroke. With a 12-hit attack, the Knights overcame Perrin’s early lead and posted an 8-1 win at North Crowley High School.

Perrin slips to 17-7 with the setback while Lindsay goes to 25-1. Perrin Coach David Tarver didn’t have much of a voice left after the contest but admitted he felt good about his squad’s chances in game two today at 5 p.m.

The Pirates would not get another hit off Otto, but three walks to Sims and Brice Adair and an error, which allowed Chace Talley aboard in the second, would provide chances Perrin was not able to take advantage of.
