Thu, 10/12/2017 - 12:21 pm

Jacksboro Middle School’s football teams continued its seasons recently.

The seventh grade faced Muenster and ended in a 6-all tie. Paul Shackelford’s 40-yard TD run in the third quarter tied the game and the Tiger defense made it stick.

Micky Martinez had a fumble recovery for the squad.

“This was our first complete ball game of the year,” Coach Brian Davenport said. “The kids did a good job getting on and off the field with few errors. There was plenty to be excited about and build on for the season.

After a win over Bowie, the 7th grade hit the road and posted a 6-0 win over Boyd Oct. 5. Baylor Laake had a fumble recovery and later score from five yards out for the game’s lone score. Ryder Jackson had an interception late to help the Purple go to 2-0-1 for the season.
