JMS 8 girls win Windthorst Tournament

Jacksboro Middle School’s eighth-grade girls' basketballers have had good luck in recent days, the ‘A’ team winning a tournament in Windthorst and getting a pair of district wins.

The girls faced Nocona Jan. 6, the ‘B’ team posting a 22-18 win. Jacksboro led 10-6 at the half. Anna Barker led the way with 12 points. Shayli Mitchell and Olivia Staley each added four with Cadynce Duncan adding two.

The ‘A’ team came from behind in the second half to post a 29-23 win over the squad. Nocona led 6-4 after one and 6-5 at the half. The Tigerettes outscored Nocona 13-8 in the third and 11-9 in the fourth to take the win.

Brynn Pardue, Litzy Flores, and Traci Berend each had six points. Teagan Reynolds added four with Savannah Thompson contributing three points. Tradyn Reynolds and Lilli Gonzales had two points each.
