JMS 8 boys continue district play

Jacksboro Middle School’s 8th grade boys hoop squads faced Henrietta and Paradise on the road recently with good results.

Against Henrietta Jan. 16, the ‘A’ team posted a 29-21 win. Jacksboro led 7-5 after one and 15-7 at the half. Each team scored 14 points in the second half to move the young Tigers to 4-3 in district and 5-4 overall.

Landon Davenport had 10 points to lead the Purple with De’Treyvion Tate adding eight. Edwin Salazar contributed four, Jordan Yount three while Dylan Thomas and Daylon Valles two each.

Drew Bright along with Tate and Davenport were top rebounders with Thomas and Salazar credited for good defense by Coach Brian Davenport.
