Jboro VB loses pair
Visiting Nocona used a frontcourt attack that Jacksboro’s volleyballers couldn’t solve and wound up posting a 25-14, 25-18, 13-25, 25-20 win over the Tigerettes Friday afternoon.
Both squads are 2-3 in District 8-3A with one week to go in the first round of loop play.
Alex Holman staked the Purple to a 2-0 lead in game one but Nocona used a five-point string from Trystin Fenoglio to go up 6-2. Leah Plaster’s pair cut the deficit to one but it would be as close as the Tigerettes would get the rest of the game.
Jacksboro would use a Morgyn Green single and seven-point skein from Jordan Pruitt to take a 15-11 lead in game two. The Lady Indians would come storming back, however, with a four-point string from Yvonne Croxton and five tallies from Emma Meekins to finish out game two.
Pruitt’s three-point string, aided by a block of her own, staked Jacksboro to a 7-5 lead in game three. After breaking serve, Trinity Tisdale had a five-point run, aided by a pair of Leah Plaster kills to take a 13-6 advantage.
