Jacksboro, Bryson open camping season

Thu, 06/02/2016 - 2:14 pm

With summer in its initial stages, Jack county kids are already looking for things to do and are coming out in droves for camps.

Both Jacksboro and Bryson opened the camping season earlier this week. Jacksboro had a baseball camp and Bryson with a combined basketball/football camp for boys. Tiger Baseball Coach Blake Belcher had more than 50 kids in grades 3-9 looking to learn the finer points of the game.

Bryson had about 17 young men in grades 2-9 in two different camps. Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jason Briles said he had originally split the groups up into younger and older kids. Because of the low numbers in the older group, he decided to mesh the groups into one for the final two days of the camp.
