Cowgirl VB sweeps Graford

Thu, 09/14/2017 - 1:28 pm

BRYSON – Quick. Decisive. To the point.

In just 63 minutes Saturday morning, Bryson showed visiting Graford why it is considered to be one of front runners in District 9-2A with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-18 win.

The Cowgirls took advantage, getting out to a 5-0 start in the opener on Kyla Jones’ serves. Sofia Hincapie’s pair of points cut the lead to 7-4. A Sydney Davidson point and pair from Italy Pedraza extended the lead to 11-5. Pairs of tallies from Graford’s Emma Armstrong and Taylor Penn brought the Lady Rabbits within 11-13 and forced Bryson Coach Chelsea Kincaid into a timeout.

A Davidson kill forced a side out with Alyssa Perez using kills and blocks from Davidson to roll off four straight points to take an 18-12 lead. Graford came through with one point before a Nikki Goodman kill set the stage for a six-point skein from Jones to end the game.
