Cowboys fall to BC

Thu, 09/28/2017 - 12:21 pm

GUTHRIE – For the second time this year, Bryson had a chance to make a statement about itself with a solid performance vs. a state-ranked team.

In the first meeting, the Cowboys came back and came within a blocked extra point vs. No.3 Milford in a 51-50 loss. Sept. 22, the squad faced defending state champ and top-ranked Borden County. The Coyotes showed why they had the high ranking and could be a force to be reckoned with in a 62-16 win.

Bryson (2-2) can take solace in knowing it was the first team to score on the Coyotes this year. The loss leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of Coach Jason Briles.

“We were scared to tackle,” Briles said. “We moved the ball well and came up empty four times inside the 10.”
