Boys lost to CV, 65-63
You fight, you battle ...and some nights it still isn’t enough.
City View used a solid outside game, banging home 10 three-pointers to take a 16-point fourth- quarter lead in Jacksboro Friday night. The Tigers finally had enough, screaming back to get within two late in the game and even getting a chance for a game-winning shot before falling 65-63.
Jacksboro closes the first round of District 8-3A play at 2-5 and 7-10 overall with City View now 3-4 and 15-8.
City View led by 14 with 4:35 left but baskets by Clay Botello and Payton Laake cut the lead to eight barely a minute later.
Laake then hit the squad’s first three-pointer with 2:15 to go to get within five.
Weston Bowen then used a Laake pass to get within 63-60 with 1:06 left, forcing a City View timeout.
