Closing the year being sick

Wed, 01/06/2021 - 5:00 am

I have to admit I’ve been feeling pretty good heading into the last week of 2020.

I went to my sister’s for Christmas, hung out, talked noise and came home ready for the back to school fun.

Had a great long weekend and went back to work Dec. 29. Things began to deteriorate that Sunday but nothing that would keep me from going to work. Tuesday, I came home not feeling very well from a game in Bryson but I began coughing is something I don’t do very much.

Wednesday morning I headed to the urgent care as my doctor said there was very little chance of getting in to see my doctor as he was up in the Rocky Mountains chilling for the next three weeks. I went to Urgent Care and dealt with Medicare Screamer.

I filled out the paper work, met with the physician’s assistant son was told regardless of what I thought, I’m getting a covid. Turned out negative which I knew it would.

The PA said he thought I might have an upper respiratory infection, so he gave me a, Z Pack, some steroids and I figured I would be fine by the weekend or maybe even Saturday for the JHS basketball doubleheader.

NOT!!! Woke up Monday with another night of coming off the couch because I wanted to make sure Heather wasn’t getting sick. I had breathing problems taking the trash from the dumpster over the weekend and back which drew some concern.

Fortunately, mucus was still coming up which is still a positive. Another positives the fact my JHS coaches got me my their book pages after a couple of tough homecourt losses to Holliday.

I’m not thinking I want to be outside gathering stories like a squirrel over the next few days but I have to get healthy because I’m like everyone else and don’t want to be sick.

Heck, half the time I can’t even be sure I’m being read except if it’s something negative. Take what you can bet, I guess.

That’s about for this week. As always, thanks for reading.

See y’all down the road.
