Harriet Jane Campsey Sides

Harriet Jane Campsey Sides. Oct. 27, 1944 to March 25, 2020.

A great Texas lady left the stage last Wednesday. Harriet Sides, also known to some of her family as Janie, was 75. 

Harriet’s “stage” was an area of north Texas, in particular the towns of Jacksboro and Wichita Falls, between which lay Happy C Ranch established more than 100 years ago by her great grandfather Joseph Campsey. She and her much loved husband L.W. Sides enjoyed a marriage of 32 years, having met and later married in Tyler on Oct. 4, 1986. 

Michael Lee Underwood

Michael Lee Underwood, 45, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. He was born Jan. 7, 1975 in Eastland. Michael was an avid hunter, great fisherman and a Dallas Cowboys fan through and through. He retired as a Sr. Chief from the United States Navy. During his 23 years of service, Michael had been deployed to Iraq, Bahrain, Italy and San Diego. He also received Sailor of the Year on two separate occasions. Upon retirement, Michael moved back to Texas where he purchased his first home on Lake Granbury.

Edward Wallace Miller

Edward Wallace Miller passed away March 15, 2020 surrounded by loved ones in Katy. Born Dec. 22, 1943, Ed grew up in Jacksboro and attended college at Texas Tech University. He spent his adult life in Olton, Houston and Katy. Ed’s life was dedicated to high school education where he spent 37 years as a teacher, coach and administrator, retiring from Cy-Fair High School in 2003 after 20 years as an assistant principal.

Wesley Allen Damron

Wesley Allen Damron left his home on earth Sunday, March 15, 2020 and is now at peace in Heaven.

Wes was born Sept. 23, 1965 to Wilfred and Pauline Damron in Graham. He grew up in Bryson, where he was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Pauline Damron.

He is survived by aunts, Joyce King, of Bryson, and Juanita Damron, of Jacksboro; a host of cousins and friends. He also leaves behind his best friend and faithful companion, Maggie.

CL Raper

CL Raper, 95, a long time Parker County resident, WWII veteran, retired Montgomery Ward truck driver and farmer, passed away at the West Fork assisted living facility in Weatherford on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

Dalphine Geer Lane

Dalphine Geer Lane, 89, entered heaven March 7, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Services will be Saturday, March 14. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with services following at 11 a.m. at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro. Burial will follow at Wood Cemetery in Barton Chapel.

Dalphine LaDell Geer Lane was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Jacksboro to Willie and Vida (Simpson) Geer. She married Jerral Kenneth (J.K.) Lane in Jacksboro on June 14, 1949, they celebrated 68 years of marriage.

S.E. Kinder, Jr.

S.E. Kinder, Jr., 92, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 in Fort Worth. Funeral was 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4 in Morrison Funeral Chapel in Graham. Burial followed in Cottonwood Cemetery in Jack County. Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
