Wanda Ruth Hughes passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 in Fort Worth.

Graveside Service was held on March 24 at 2 p.m. at Perrin Memorial Gardens.

Wanda was born on Feb. 3, 1947 in Jacksboro to Howard E. Johnston and Mary Nash Johnston. She was a lifelong resident of Perrin where she was a member of Spark Springs Christian Advent Church. Wanda married the love of her life, Gene Hughes in Perrin on Oct. 29, 1966. She loved playing bunko with her friends and volunteering at the Clothes Closet for 20-plus years. Most of all she loved spending time with family and taking care of her loved ones.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Johnston and sister Edith Johnston. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Gene Hughes; brothers, Marlin Johnston of Madisonville and Bobby Johnston of Perrin; along with 10 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
