Carter ready to begin coaching in Perrin

Fri, 08/03/2018 - 1:22 pm

PERRIN – Lohn ISD has become a fertile feeding ground for Perrin.

Over the last few weeks, two coaches from the school outside of Brady have pulled up stakes and moved onto the Pirate ship, the most recent being Tyler Carter. Carter, who will be coaching football and some junior high sports, said it’s a huge move coming to Perrin.

“Pre-K through 12th, Lohn had 93 students last year,” Carter said. “I decided to go somewhere to be competitive whereas Lohn is simply trying to keep its doors open right now. I’m excited to be here.”

Carter spent two years at Lohn, the same amount of time as new Perrin VB Coach Rebekah Bland. At Lohn, he assisted with football, was head basketball coach and worked with the track athletes. The two got to know each other and enjoyed coaching with each other. When Bland recently picked up her new position, Carter, who is dating Bland’s sister, decided to pull up stakes as well.
