Tigers rout City View
In the midst of a skid where it had lost two of its last three District 8-3A games, Jacksboro’s varsity baseball team took out their frustrations on visiting City View Friday, slapping out 14 hits in an 18-1 victory.
Jacksboro runs its record to 6-2 in the league (10-10-1 overall) while the Mustangs drop to 0-8 and 0-16. Tiger Coach Blake Belcher seemed pleased with his squad following the 1:45 encounter.
“Glad to see we got the bats going,” Belcher said. “Lathan (Lowrance) did a solid job on the hill as well.”
Lowrance tossed a no-hitter, the lone run scoring on a hit batter, a stolen base, a sacrifice and a wild pitch in the first inning. The junior struck out seven and walked two.
Jacksboro took control with a five-run first inning.
