JHS lifters win Santo meet

SANTO – Jacksboro, and Perrin both had solid meets here Saturday as both powerlifting teams tried to solidify their positions at the regional meet later this month.

Jacksboro won the boys' portion of the meet thanks to a number of top three positions. Josh Wells won at 165 with a 1,300-pound combined lift. Freshman Randall Hamilton was second in the class with a 960-pound combined lift.

Senior Jacob Hull won at 198, lifting a combined 1,150 pounds. James Brock finished 2nd in the class. Chandler Bridges won for the Tigers at 242-pounds with a combined 1,205-pound lift.

Cody Howard was 2nd at 220 pounds with a combined 1,030-pound lift. KC Rater was second at 275-pounds with a 1,105-pound lift with Mason Damron third in the superheavyweight division with a combined 1,060-pound lift.

For Perrin, Courtney Davis won her 181-pound class with Kelli Tucker second at 114 and Jake Holmes 5th at 181.

The Pirate girls took part in a qualifying meet Thursday in Howe but results were not available as of press time.
