Lady Pirates drop 43-22 game to CA

Thu, 12/21/2017 - 11:37 am

PERRIN – Any night your shots aren’t falling, and your opponents are, is nearly a guarantee of a long night.

Perrin’s girls' basketball squad converted just 7-43, or 16 percent of its shots Friday vs. Christ Academy. The visiting Warriors made 32 percent of theirs en route to a 43-22 win over the host Lady Pirates.

Christ Academy (7-7) used Lauren Spragins converting from both inside and out to take a 5-0 lead midway through the first. Perrin got back in the game using Kaylie Anderson free throws and a Nayeli Lopez basket to draw within one.

Lopez’s basket would be the only one of the frame, Perrin missing its last seven from the field as Christ Academy led 9-4 after one. Danielle O’Keke began to use her size inside for easy visitor baskets in the second as the lead went into double figures for the first time. Lopez free throws and a Kelli Tucker basket brought the deficit back to six quickly.
