Youth exhibitors show swine during the Jack County Livestock Show. The stock show is just one of many events that take place at the Jack County Fair Barn.

Now is the time to step right up and get your chance to win a new truck at Showdown 2017. The Jack County Fair Association will host its annual Showdown Saturday, August 12 at the Twin Lakes Activity Center.

Tickets are on sale now for $125 in addition to the chance to win a new 2017 Chevrolet pickup, includes a barbecue dinner for two beginning at 7 p.m. at the 18th annual Showdown Party. This year, the fair association is changing things up a bit and will host a casino night beginning at 8 p.m. Meal ticket stubs can be redeemed for complimentary poker chips. Additional poker chips maybe purchased at the door. Poker chips may also be used for chances to win additional prizes including a chance for a Top 10 pickup ticket, a Grable Oil Gas certificate and four other prizes with a combined value of $2,000.

Ticket holders must be present to win the additional prizes but not the pickup.

There is a draw-down for the truck with only 300 chances sold.

All but one Showdown ticket will be sold before the event. Once there are nine chances left in the hopper, the winner of the 300th ticket is drawn and that person’s name is thrown in the hopper.

The tickets are drawn until the final, winning truck ticket remains.

The 2017 Chevrolet half-ton pickup and the winner can “cash” it in at the dealership, James Woods Motors.

All money raised benefits the Jack County Fair Association Building Fund.

The Showdown fundraiser helps maintain and has helped fund expansion of the Jack County Fair Barn which is used throughout the year by several Jack County school organizations, student groups and residents of all ages.

Tickets may be purchased from any Jack County Fair Association board member, the Jack County AgriLife Extension office in the courthouse, any of the three banks in Jacksboro, Ciera Bank in Bryson, Perrin Feed and Hardware, H-Brand Feed Store, Grable Oil and Tractor Supply.
