Lions Club fish fry June 5
The annual Jacksboro Lions Club fish fry is tomorrow, Thursday, June 5. The event is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year and takes place from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Largest class ever walks stage at JHS
Jacksboro High School graduated its largest class ever during ceremonies Friday, May 23. Ninety-three students crossed the stage to receive their diplomas at Tiger Stadium.

Extension summer camps begin June 16
Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service is sponsoring a number of summer day camps for children up to fifth grade this summer. Jack County Extension Agent Alinda Cox will be hosting each of the camps, which begin Monday, June 16.
JHS ex-students award scholarships
For the 35th year, Jacksboro High School Ex-Students awarded scholarships, with this year’s totaling $110,000 to 14 seniors. Jacksboro City Council discuss upcoming budget
With a new Jacksboro council anticipating its first budget, City Manager Mike Smith gave them a bird’s eye view of what to expect at the Monday, May 12 meeting. Smith told the council, which has a new mayor and two council members, the city usually stays within a strategic plan when it comes to preparing the next fiscal year budget.
