Ways to help prevent child abuse

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Jack County Child Welfare Board, established in 2007, is comprised of volunteers. The group works with county commissioners and donations from the community which 100 percent goes back to Jack County.

Donations can ben used for basic needs such as a pair of shoes, a winter coat or a notebook and pencils. The organization helps to ensure that there children won’t have to go another day without basic necessities of rite children of Jack County.

Donations go such things as the rainbow room which is stocked to provide emergency resources to county children in need.

Turning birthday ad Christmas kids to children in foster care.

Award scholarships to deserving seniors.

Sponsor law enforcement officers and workers to attend seminars and conferences.

Donate car seats to jacksboro PD so children can be transported safely.

Backpacks for the Back to School Fair and spend money to make sure kids in need have back to school clothes.
