Wallon takes over as Chamber director

Tue, 11/09/2021 - 11:21 am

Tiffany Wallon has taken over as the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce Executive Director following the unexpected departure of Sandy Peevey.

Peevey resigned after less than a month on the job. Wallon, a friend of Chamber board member Kim Veselka, explains how she got the position.

“I was working in the wedding business and had known Kim for 15 years,” Wallon said. “She asked me to come to a Chamber board meeting. I did and the decision was made.”

Wallon, who is from Azle, has been on the job about a week and comes from a management background. She worked as a regional manager for 13 resorts on South Padre Island. While there she was responsible for planning about 170 events a month, which is something she hopes to do here.

When COVID-19 hit, the resort industry took a tumble. She moved back home to Azle and began working in the wedding business.
