Twin Lakes Center fees to change

Wed, 02/03/2021 - 5:00 am

With an increase in membership and some renovation work going on, Jacksboro Parks and Rec officials have opted to increase some fees at Twin Lakes Activity Center.

City aldermen approved the ordinance at Monday night ’s regular meeting during their regular meeting. Parks and Rec Director Will Magnum explained the reasoning behind them. A 16-percent increase in visits since the renovation began with present fees not being able to maintain the equipment being part of the reason for the sought increases.

Memberships have increased from 30 to 45 since the renovations commenced. Mangum said with the proposed increase of daily admission from $6 to $20 for both residents and non-residents will help maintain equipment and possibly get some new equipment.

Some of the other changes include:

• Individual memberships going from $75 to $120 a year for Jacksboro residents, or from $6.25 to $10 a month. Non residents will increase from $85 to $150 a year. Resident seniors will rise from $50 to $90 a year for new memberships, $40 to $65 for renewals.

Non-resident seniors will increase from $60 to $110 for new members and $50 to $70 for renewals.

* Six-month memberships which are individual only, are rising from $65 to $105 for residents and from $75 to $110 for non-residents.

One month memberships will be $40 for resident and $60 for nonresidents.

Rates at the ballfields will remain the same.

* Daily rental on the center will go up from $300 to $500 a day which will help improve campsites and water hookups out near the lake.
