Trump wins Jack County

In Jack County, President Donald Trump won with more than 90 percent of the votes cast during Tuesday’s general election. These are unofficial votes provided by the Election Administrator’s office. The election must be canvassed by county officials inn order to be official.

Trump had 3,415 votes cast (2,643 in early voting and 772 on Election Day) to Joe Biden’s 331 cast (276 early voting and 55 on Election Day. Jo Jorgensen and Jeremy Cohen had 24 votes with Howie Hawkins and Angela Walker having nine votes cast.

For U.S. Senator, Johny Cornyn won here in the county with 3319 votes cast with MJ Hegar winding up with 319 votes cast. Kerry McKennon had 41 votes, David B. Collins with another 17 and Ricardo Bonilla with one.

The local race between for District 68 had incumbent Drew Springer with 3363 and Patsy Ledbetter with 298. Springer is also running for a State Senate seat. All other local races were unopposed as District Attorney Greg Lowery had 3388 votes in Jack County. County Attorney Brad Dixon, Sheriff Tom Spurlock, County Tax Assessor-Collector Sharon Robinson, County Constable Clyde Watson, and County Commissioners Gary Oliver and Henry D. Birdwell Jr.

In the contest for U.S. Rep. District 13, Ronny Jackson had 3310 votes with Gus Trujillo 297 and Jack B. Westbrook 54.

James Wright had the most votes in the county for Railroad Commissioner with 3302. Chrysta Castaneda had 300 votes, Matt Street had 46 and Katjia “Kat” Gruene another 15 votes.

Incumbent Nathan Hecht had 3282 votes for Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court. Amy Clark Meachum had 309 votes and Mark Ash 53.

Jane Bland had 3346 votes for Supreme Court Place 6 with Kathy Cheng 302. In Supreme Court Place 7 Jeff Boyd had 3267, Staci Williams 301 and William Bryan Strange III 46. Supreme Court Place 8 went to Brett Busby with 3291, Gisela D. Triana had 288 and Tom Oxford 62.

For Court Criminal Appeals Place 3, Bert Richardson had 3316 votes to Elizabeth Davis Frizzell’s 306. In Place 4, Kevin Patrick Year had 3327 with Tina Clinton tallying 309 votes.In Place 9, David Newell had 3304 votes to Brandon Birmingham’s 303.

In District 14 State Board of Education, Sue Melton-Malone had 3313 votes to Greg Alford 322.

For 2nd Court of Appeals, Place 2, Diana Womack had 3309 votes. In place 6, Mike Wallach totaled 3309 votes with Delonia A. Watson tallying 312 votes. In Place 7, Brian Walker totaled 3422 votes.
