The Perrin-Whitt CISD board of trustees reviewed and discussed their district goals for the upcoming school year during their meeting Thursday, Feb. 20.

Currently, the board has six district goals relating to budget, school safety, equipment and supporting teachers, preparing students for the future, increasing student involvement in a competitive environment and facilitating community involvement through timely information.

“I think all of those have stood out this year, as far as, we have seen things we have done to try increase those goals into a positive area,” Superintendent Cliff Gilmore said.

He asked the board to look at perhaps narrowing the scope of the goals to address more specific areas they wanted to see looked at.

“My list of priorities for everyday improvements may be different than some of you guys,” Gilmore said.

Board member Darren Francis said they should review the goals quarterly with updates and it could allow board members to provide their ideas on things they want to see done.

He added he believed they should add their board performance goals for early learning literacy, math and college, career, military readiness.

The board will adopt goals for the 2020-21 school year during their next board meeting.
