Jack County Justice of the Peace Stacy Spurlock recently completed the new justice of the peace training in San Marcos.

The Texas Justice Court Training Center would like to recognize the 27 Justices of the Peace who completed the mandated 80-hours of judicial education required of all justices of the peace in their first year in office March 30.

New Justice of the Peace education is composed of three highly intensive seminars that address ethics, criminal procedure, civil procedure, inquests, magistration, office administra-tion, and legal reasoning. The three seminars are taught by TJCTC staff attorneys and current Judges throughout the state. The seminars satisfy the mandatory education requirements and provide up-to-date information concerning legislation and procedures applicable to justice courts.
