Jack County gets another round of vaccines

Wed, 02/10/2021 - 5:00 am

Around 400 first round of COVID vaccines were distributed to county residents Thursday at the Twin Lakes Activity Center.

In a “well oiled machine” operated by both city and county staff members, residents came and got their shots with Jacksboro Police Chief Scott Haynes checking a list to make sure everyone had an appointment and directing them to parking.

Faith Community Hospital Chief of Staff and County Medical Officer Dr. Robert Cooper says Concerned Citizens of Jack County is organizing the list. About 500 people remain on the master list.

Once inside, paper work was again checked and folks were directed to get their shot.

Once you get your shot, a 15-minute waiting period is enforced to make sure there are no adverse reactions. You are then allowed to leave the facility, Cooper said.

Average in and out time was about an hour, Cooper said. Second doses of vaccines are to be given in 28 days.

For those still waiting for their first vaccines, there are no other shipments scheduled presently, Cooper said. Those wanting a shot are asked to call Concerned Citizens at 567-2607 to get on the list.
