Jack County accepts new bids on rock, software
Jack County will be receiving new software for law enforcement as well as hiring two rock contractors for the first time in recent history, according to County Judge Keith Umphress.
The bids were opened at the Oct. 15 meeting of Commissioners Court, with five total bids being brought to the attention of the court.
The third bid accepted by the court was for a new software for law enforcement. The bid was placed by Kologik, which has four locations in the United States, the closest to Jack County being in Dallas.
Frank Hefner, Jack County Emergency Management Coordinator, said the move will greatly help out dispatchers as well as law enforcement.
“We are moving to provide mobile terminals into the patrol cars themselves,” Hefner said. “The software will be used to link those cars together and will make it easier for the cars to communicate with each other. The software will also provide new dispatch software and jail management report systems.”
