Jack County Emergency Management Coordinator Frank Hefner came before the Bryson city council Monday, March 9 seeking approval of the  Jack County Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The plan was developed in partnership with Nortex Regional Planning Commission. Nortex is helping Jack and 10 other counties, as well as the entities inside of them, to pass the plans.

“What this does, it basically is just a documentation that looks at what our hazards are within our community and if there’s a way to mitigate that hazard we go after means or methods to mitigate it as much as possible,” Hefner said. “Whether it be helping with grants or if the city decides to fund it themselves, however they deem necessary to do it.”
